Gary’s Story: Renewed Presence, Hope, and a New Path Forward

For Debra, finding Next Health felt like divine intervention.

She had been speaking at a company function when she shared the story of her husband, Gary, and the cognitive decline he had been experiencing. After her presentation, a doctor approached her and asked if she had heard about a clinical study involving TB-006. That conversation led Debra to discover that Dr. Habib and Next Health were participating in the trial, just five miles from their home.

“Had I not spoken at that convention, I never would have found Next Health,” Debra shared.

Gary had been experiencing changes that were difficult for both of them to watch. Over time, Debra noticed that he had become quieter, more withdrawn, and less engaged in social situations. Gary noticed it too. He felt he was no longer as lighthearted or connected as he used to be around friends and family.

“I was seeing that I am not becoming as fun as I normally have been,” Gary said.

As part of the onboarding process at Next Health, Dr. Habib ordered lab work that revealed additional factors potentially contributing to Gary’s cognitive decline, including severe black mold toxicity and heavy metal toxicity. For Debra, this was a pivotal difference. Instead of only naming the diagnosis, Dr. Habib began looking for underlying contributors that could be addressed.

“Here, we’re understanding root cause and we’re eliminating whatever interference is occurring in Gary’s body,” Debra said.

Gary and Debra began a phased protocol through Next Health. The first phase focused on detoxification, with additional phases designed to continue supporting his body and brain health. Within the first month, Debra began noticing meaningful changes.

“I have noticed much more cognitive presence,” she said. “Especially when we’re with other people.”

Gary also felt a shift. After beginning the program, he noticed himself smiling more, laughing more, talking more, and reconnecting with the parts of himself that had felt distant.

“I start laughing and I start smiling,” Gary said. “I become one of the people that likes to talk and have a good time… and it’s a wonderful relief.”

For Debra, the contrast between their experience at Next Health and their experience in conventional neurology was striking. After a follow-up visit with a neurologist, they were told Gary had early Alzheimer’s and should consider medication to slow progression. Debra respected the role of conventional medicine, but she wanted more than a plan focused only on slowing decline. She wanted to understand why this was happening and what could be done to support Gary at a deeper level.

That is what she found at Next Health.

With Dr. Habib, Debra and Gary felt they had a partner who was not only knowledgeable, but also patient, kind, and deeply committed to helping them understand every step of the process.

“He is so knowledgeable and so kind,” Debra said. “Any question that we have asked Dr. Habib, he sits down, he explains things, and he won’t leave until we really understand it.”

The environment at Next Health also made a lasting impression. Debra described each interaction with the staff as exceptional and said the office felt both calming and empowering.

“I want to live here,” she said. “It’s so relaxing, but also so empowering.”

For Gary and Debra, Next Health has offered something they had been searching for: hope, clarity, and a proactive path forward. While their journey is still ongoing, the early changes have already brought relief and renewed optimism.

“The whole process with Next Health has been just a beautiful experience,” Debra said.

For Gary, the success is deeply personal. It is found in laughter returning, presence growing stronger, and the joy of feeling more like himself again.
